Details: Part of a long-term rebuilding and improvement program on Interstate 95 through Philadelphia, GR-1 (Girard Avenue, Section 1) serves the Port Richmond portion of the renewal project. JBC Associates is providing Construction Inspection services for this $91.3 million project which includes the reconstruction and relocation of Richmond Street (S.R. 2001) between Aramingo Avenue and Ann Street; reconstruction of SR 2008 and rehabilitation of the Girard Avenue Bridge over Aramingo Avenue (S.R. 2009); replacement of two Conrail overpasses with the construction of four new single-span railroad bridges, new tracks and four retaining walls; improvements to eight intersections along Richmond Street; installation of ITS components along the arterial routes adjacent to I-95 between the Broad Street and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges; extension of the Somerset Street sewer and reconstruction of an associated interceptor chamber; two traffic signal installations; utility relocations and other miscellaneous construction. This four year project is scheduled to complete in 2017.
