Location: Philadelphia, PA | Owner: University of Pennsylvania | Cost: $80 million | Completion: 2013
Details: Singh Center for Nanotechnology (CFN) is an $80 million state-of-the-art facility. The 78,000 gsf building houses research space, clean rooms, general laboratory areas, and a characterization suite. The project was funded through the University, private donations and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. JBC was hired by the University to provide Schedule Monitoring and Schedule Analysis services during construction and post construction. Our services included on-going schedule review and monitoring, determining the cause and effect of delays to the project, and making recommendations on the extent of the delay and possible mitigation efforts to ensure a timely completion. A report of findings and recommendations was presented to the University monthly. Additionally, JBC was retained by the University to review change orders to determine if they had merit and if the costs were reasonable.
