Details: The Dormitory Authority State of New York (DASNY) and its partner, the New York State Office of Mental Health, recently opened a new $350 million, state-of-the-art Bronx Behavioral Health Campus on the grounds of the former Bronx Psychiatric Center. The new six-building redevelopment campus occupies 34 acres of the total 70 acre site.
The 436,310 SF complex was managed by DASNY and its Program Manager/Construction Manager from the design which began in 2008 to its completion in December 2015. The new LEED-certified compact campus facility will provide energy savings and improved efficiencies for delivering mental health services.
JBC Associates was a member of the PM/CM team providing on-site contract administration and facility inspection services during construction of the new 86-bed, 112,750 SF Children’s Center building consisting of classrooms, therapy rooms, dining and recreation areas and the 48,600 SF Central Services Building, both part of the overall redevelopment project.
