Details: As a member of the Construction Management team, JBC provided primary MEP/F inspection and commissioning oversight services during the design-build construction of the new replacement prison at the SCI Graterford prison site, the state’s oldest and largest maximum security facility. SCI Phoenix is a new $400 million prison complex which combines two separate facilities – a maximum security prison and a medium security prison – consisting of 24 housing and administrative buildings on site, and a shared secure perimeter and support services building. JBC responsibilities included inspection of the installation of the HVAC equipment, Electrical equipment and all associated 35K transformers, distribution to sub-station tie breakers, medium and low voltage cabling, switch gear, transformers, panelboards and engine generators, Plumbing, Fire Protection piping and controls, and building automation system as per the plans, specification and codes. Additionally, JBC oversaw equipment testing and commissioning of MEP/F equipment, factory startup of equipment and sequencing of electrical systems upon completion of the installed equipment.
